DESCRIPTION:Let the Pro’s critique your work & offer guidance for success! \n  \nHaving a solid portfolio is vital when getting started in the industry. On Thursday\, October 27th both students & young professionals will have a unique opportunity to share their portfolios one-on-one with working media professionals and receive valuable feedback right on the spot. \n  \nYou’ll be able to interact with a wide range of professionals including directors\, producers\, editors\, and cinematographers. They all come from a diverse background in the industry such as national/regional commercials\, web videos\, documentaries\, and narrative film. Each pro will provide a personal perspective about their craft and help highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each portfolio. \n  \nNo portfolio-no problem! This is a great opportunity to connect with pros and ask questions. Unfinished work is also welcome. This program is a great opportunity to gain insight into the professional media industry and learn a bit more about what’s happening on the local scene. So\, now’s the time to tighten up that portfolio and share it with those that could help you the most. \n  \nThis event is FREE for everyone to attend. Our speaker Martha Carrigan\, CEO of Big Shoes Network will guide us through a thought-provoking discussion on how to return to in-person events since so many have lost our way on how to relate to each other and how to make our technical work more relatable and in touch with humankind. \n  \nMartha Carrigan is the CEO of Big Shoes Network (BSN) a niche job-board and resource site for digital advertising\, graphic & web design\, marketing\, and PR in Illinois\, Minnesota and Wisconsin. She is responsible for strategic marketing\, business development and finance. She helps find and connect great creative talent with opportunities in Midwest companies as well as coaches individuals on their career pursuits. As a requested presenter at universities and professional groups\, she speaks on the creative industry employment and career-related topics. Martha serves on non-profit boards\, as a board advisor and mentor including: Madison College\, The Commons\, USO Wisconsin Marketing\, UW-Whitewater Digital Marketing program\, and WCTC. \n  \nThis event is FREE for everyone to attend.
